Kevin and Monica

Our latest wedding was in York, SC at the Latta House--such a charming spot.  We had the opportunity to get to know Monica and Kevin over the past few months while planning their wedding, and I must say, we felt like family that day.  We were so happy to see this day arrive for them!  The bride and groom were so precious talking about each other and so excited about their new life together--that's so much fun for us to watch!

Thanks you two for allowing us this opportunity to get to know you and to play a part in your beautiful wedding.  It was an honor for us! Congrats to you both!

This weekend we went on a hike with my friends Joey and Melissa Gray and their two dogs Lily and Lux.....two beastly dogs! We went to South Mountain State Park and went on a pretty intense hike up the mountain to an unbelievable view of the High Shoals Waterfall. Needless to say as we approached the top we really started to feel the burn as there were a million and a half little stairs to climb,
but the view was worth it!

Meaghann's New Chapter

This weekend, we shot some senior portraits for a super kid who is now working on summer staff at TVR Christian Camp and Retreat Center in Plumtree, NC, where I (Stephen) worked as the staff photographer when I met CJ. Meaghann will be entering her last year of high school this fall, but has the head and heart that will keep her grounded and take her places.

Meaghann, CJ and I had a blast hanging out with you this weekend; we wish you the best as you enter into your college years!

Torrence Family Weekend

Over the 4th of July weekend, Stephen and I visited his family.  We all stayed in a cabin his parents had reserved for us in Fancy Gap, VA; it was great.  It rained for most of the weekend, so most of the vacationers under the age of 8 weren't too thrilled, but it was perfect for me.  The cool, damp air was a great break from the heat we had been experiencing.  Once I discovered the hammock on the front porch, I didn't budge, even when it was storming and I caught a little mist!

We took a ton of pictures then, and a lot of the time, the cameras were passed around, so we were actually able to BE in the some of them! :)  When the sun was shining, we did some great family shots of everybody--so much fun.  Being in the mountains, Steve found himself able to return to some landscape photography, a great love of his.  From the view off the back deck (which was breathtaking, as you can see below) we caught glimpses of several different firework shows.  Here are some of the best representations of the weekend:

Justin and Jenna

Here's a preview of our most recent wedding on June 28th at Queen's University in Charlotte.  It was an amazing day, bride and groom glowing, and all sorts of emotions in the same moment.   It's so much fun, and makes my heart full to see relationships at their best on a wedding day that was carefully planned and prayed-for.

When the couple drove off for their honeymoon, and we started on our way home, we gave Jenna's mom a hug goodbye, and she said, "Wow, you guys are like family now!"   It's truly mutual!  Justin and Jenna:  Steve and I loved working at your wedding--we are so grateful!  Thank you for such an awesome opportunity!  We send our best for a great honeymoon!

Jon, Windy and the boys

Here are some of the shots we got two Sundays ago of my (CJ's) sister and her family. We had a blast! (Plus, I love showing the boys off...they are like my own.)

Tyler and Lesley

On June 14, two high school sweethearts started sharing the same last name. The wedding was in her grandmother's front yard, and every detail was thoughtful and personal. It was such a precious day; everybody involved was so excited, and it was more than obvious how much love they have surrounding them. I'm not sure I can think of one detail that could have gone any better throughout the entire day. That week, there was a chance of rain on Saturday, and the clouds were heavy and threatened a storm until about an hour before the ceremony--then, clouds opened up--for about 10 minutes. Chairs were quickly wiped off, and the show was back on the road, except the air was cooler and smelled cleaner. Even the rain was on their side!

Tyler and Lesley: Stephen and I are so grateful for our friendship with you, and count it such a great honor to have played this part in your wedding. We can't wait to show you the rest of the pictures!

Love, Stephen and CJ-Girl
